Terms of Use
Last updated: July 10, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Wiki City Guide mobile app ("the App"), provided by the developer contactable at brad@wikicityguide.com. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
The Service
Wiki City Guide finds Wikipedia articles about places near your location and can read them aloud automatically as you walk ("Touring"). Article content is sourced directly from Wikipedia and is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License; Wiki City Guide does not own or claim rights to that content.
Content Disclaimer
Article content comes from Wikipedia and may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. Wiki City Guide is provided for informational and entertainment purposes only and is not a substitute for official travel, safety, or navigation guidance. When Touring, please stay aware of your surroundings, traffic, and other hazards — do not rely on the App while performing an activity that requires your full attention.
Subscriptions and Purchases
The App offers a Monthly subscription, an Annual subscription, and a one-time Lifetime purchase to unlock full access. Monthly and Annual subscriptions may include a free trial; unless cancelled before the trial ends, they convert automatically to a paid, auto-renewing subscription.
- iOS: subscriptions renew automatically and are charged to your Apple ID unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Manage or cancel in Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.
- Android: subscriptions renew automatically and are charged to your Google Play account unless cancelled. Manage or cancel in the Play Store under Subscriptions.
All payments are processed by Apple or Google, and refunds are subject to their respective policies — we are not able to issue refunds directly. You can restore a previous purchase at any time from the paywall's "Restore purchases" option.
Location Services
Core features of the App, including Touring, require location access, and background location access is required for the App to read places aloud while your phone is locked or the App is in the background. You can disable location access at any time in your device settings, which will stop these features. See our Privacy Policy for details on how location data is used.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse the App, attempt to reverse-engineer it beyond what's permitted by applicable law, or use it in a way that violates Wikipedia's own terms of use.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that article content will always be available or accurate.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.
Changes to These Terms
These Terms may be updated from time to time. The "Last updated" date above will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
